What are the mechanisms for entrance into the people of God, i.e. Israel. When is a ger no longer a ger? And is it acceptable to refer to someone as a ger once they have been admitted into Israel through the conversion mentioned in the Torah? December 3, 2017 at 12:58 pmThe basic idea is that conversion was a national principle. Nationality was connected to the God one served. Hence if one fully identified with Israel, accepted The God of Israel and His Torah, and agreed to join oneself to Israel politically, one becomes an Israelite.
