Where does the practice of baptism come from?  Yoel walks us through its history explaining the linguistic, biblical, and cultural factors of ritual washing and purity from Genesis to the time of Yeshua and into today.  This lecture was given during the feast of Sukkot 2016 to a group from the US.

I ever learn from orthodox jewish i.e. there is one concept in the book of genesis 1 about baptism by John when Jesus baptized by him. In the second day of creation of the world, Elohim divided the waters which were under the firmanent from the waters which were above the firmanent. This means a new life starts from water. Is it true?

    I have heard of this before, and I think that at least some parts of Judaism agrees with this idea.
